Education
An alumna of Wellesley College, I have tested in the top 97th percentile of all US Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT)-takers for the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Living Systems and the Psychological, Social, and Biological foundations of behavior sections, and in the top 92nd percentile overall. I earned a nearly perfect score on the SAT (2380/2400) and an equally high Graduate Record Examination (GRE). In college, I concentrated academically in biological chemistry and cultural anthropology, with a special focus on the francophone African diaspora. I earned a nationally prestigious Certified Degree with Distinction from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Via a cross-registration program with MIT, I studied biological and chemical engineering under world-renowned Dr. Robert S. Langer, where I also earned a perfect 5.0/5.0 GPA.
Experience
I have tutored all levels, from grade school to college. In particular, AP students with whom I have worked have significantly improved their scores and class grades. As I have recently taken the latest MCAT, I am uniquely positioned to tutor current pre-medical students. The daughter of a high school engineering teacher and the granddaughter of a UVA mathematics professor, I have a blast making tricky concepts fun and applicable to your life. In Boston, for instance, I volunteered as a guest teacher for a local elementary school, where I taught students the basics of STEM concepts to autonomously build and then race solar-powered toy boats. Beyond subject tutoring, I have worked with students preparing college and graduate school applications and as an academic writing editor for university technical papers and grants. I enjoy working with you to bring out your unique and compelling voice, for success in all your endeavors!

Hobbies
My own academic interests spill over into my everyday life, and particularly with respect to food science. I am eager to culture yogurt anaerobically or to pressure cook phytic acid (a nutrient trap) above its boiling point, in part because I am fascinated by the gut microbiome and how bacteria wield influence over our bodies and minds. In my MD-PhD, I hope to develop novel microbial medicines for chronic and/or autoimmune diseases. Outside, and outside of coursework, I love to teach beginning through advanced rock climbing clinics. I have been fortunate to solo backpack through Europe, where I also was able to complete a Madeleine K. Albright Fellowship interning under the Assistant Director General Dr. Keiji Fukuda at the World Health Organization Headquarters. I am happy to talk about all this and more - please do give me a ring!
